League racing is supposed to be less incident prone than public servers. The FRAC was anything but.
Here's my race from season 1 race 5 of the Formula Renault Australian Championship (FRAC).
While I only qualified 37th, 2nd in the 2nd split, it was still a fun race with some good battles and a decent enough result.
0:50 - Gavin Sadler and I go side by side through T1 and T2 on lap one. This becomes relevant later...
The big news from iRacing on Arpil 1st (no it wasn't an April fools joke) is that iRacing confired they are doing proper dirt racing. Today announced they signed the Eldorado Speedway, a half mile clay oval, to be it's first speedway track. Today they also release, via Facebook, a very short video of a car in motion on what they report is a Rallycross track.
Round 2 of the FRAC series saw the pack roll into the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands. I had been able to put in a couple of hours of practice in the official FRAC session on Wendesday night and felt moderately prepared for the race the next day.
With the 2016 season 2 build of iRacing the team released a few new cars including the first in their collaboration with the Formula Renault series, the Formula Renault 2.0. This car sits below the existing Star Mazda in power but includes better aerodynamics. I got the chance to race Scott Mclaughlin and Kevin van der Linde!
Ever wonder what it would be like if you could go back in time with what you now know? Of course you have, everyone has. But until a time machine is invented you’re never going to be able to take all those lady charming skills you learned over the last decade or two back with you to highschool. I managed to do just this, but with iRacing.
The 2014 season 2 update for iRacing is about to drop and with it comes a few super exciting features for road racers. Mainly we're all pumped about the BMW Z4 GT3 and COTA circuit.
Perhaps the greatest addition to computer gaming since... forever. The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality 3D headset and it's set to change gaming forever. Here I take a look at it only in the context of iRacing.
It's been a long time coming. The Lotus 49 was announced last year and was due to be in the season 1 build for 2013. It didn't make that build, with Dave Krammer, it's main creator wanting to perfect the physics before release.
Steve Meyers has just published the release notes for latest build, set to drop at the start of next week, July 23rd. The summary is as follows: Lotus 49 and Skip Barber on the NTMv5, Montreal circuit, Ghost car, more Teaming options, Tech tracks, bug fixes.
iRacing: the most fun a motorsport fan can have on a PC. How a reborn sim racer fared in his first attempt at the daddy of all sim racing.
Anyone who's participated in multi-class racing on iRacing knows the pain of overtaking and being overtaken by cars in another class, especially when it comes to going a lap down. I get that the faster car doesn't want to get impeded by the slower car and is impatient to get by. But also, the slower car doesn't want to have his race ruined by have to excessively slow down or go offline to help out the faster car. Respect and sportsmanship go both ways here. There is an official stance on t…
My mind is made up. It's the McLaren next season. Bring it on. and no more C class nubs!

I just sat down to watch the 2012 Sandown 500. It's been a while since I've had the time to watch a V8Supercar race (usually I'm preoccuppied playing iRacing :)). As the commentators went through the entry list I was amazed at the number of names I knew, not from V8Supercars, but from racing them on iRacing. Last weekend I had a chat about V8Supercar drivers to a guy I met a kids birthday party I was at with my kids. He insisted that either (a) the drivers with these names are imposters or…
