Round 2 of the FRAC series saw the pack roll into the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands. I had been able to put in a couple of hours of practice in the official FRAC session on Wendesday night and felt moderately prepared for the race the next day.
I typically qualify between 30 and 40 but would have to up my game a little if I wanted to make the top split at this track, as there are only 30 pit boxes. This would be a hard task with the extra numbers the FRAC series is currently attracting thanks to many decent Australian Skip Barber racers giving the Formula Renault a go.
As it happends I qualified 35th, 5th in the 2nd split. I was ahead of many of the guys who had beat me in SMAC, and importantly ahead of my teammate Andrew Kiss. I made a decent start, gained a spot on the guy ahead but lost a spot to the guy in front, so by the end of lap 1 I was still in 5th. By the end of the race I had the fastest averge lap time of anyone in the field. I'll let the video tell the story.
